I finally invested some money into a nice rifle. Rather than spend $400 on a brand new one, though, I spent a lot less on one I’ve borrowed a few times before and found quite reliable. Now I’m about ready. I need a bit more camo to finish the look, but this is really getting fun! :)
Every boy dreams of the ultimate game of cops and robbers… but without the danger of being killed for good. We grow up making guns out of anything and everything, and sisters make incredible targets (likely because they’re the closest thing to criminal we know… they’re GIRLS).
Airsoft is the cops and robbers of grown men who haven’t grown up yet. It’s a chance to holster a gun that looks real, feels real, and shoots real. But it doesn’t hurt real :) It’s the excitement of tracking an enemy, battling wits against a team, being a soldier. It’s a pounding heart as the bullets fly over your head. It’s just plain fun.
2007 is the year Airsoft gets a little spending money. I’ve got the pistol, just bought a wicked cool vest, and I’ll be getting a rifle from Rohn (MP5) before the busy season. I’m geeked.
Well, I got my new gun. I sanded down the paint on the top and barrel and then repainted it with a textured Rustoleum paint. It came out looking exactly like the picture. It shoots very well, and can easily put the plastic BBs through a pop can. I’m really looking forward to getting back to the field and trying it out in real combat!
Well, as many of you know, I’ve been swept up in the latest version of “Cops and Robbers” — AirSoft. It’s a whole lot of fun to run around trying to see but not be seen, and shoot your opponents without being shot. It’s not as dangerous/painful as paintball, and the guns are even more realistic. I’ve become familiar lately with the rifles and pistols available in airsoft, and I think I like playing with just a pistol. It’s a lot nicer for quick maneuvering, and if you get a good one, you get the same power and accuracy as with the rifles. The picture here is a picture of an AirSoft Glock 19 semi-automatic gas blowback pistol. It shoots 20 rounds at 320 fps. Not fantastic, but good enough for me!
